Have contracts reviewed by reputable attorney

My fire restoration contractor instructed me to purchase materials stating I was under-insured – after auditing the totals – I found the contract to state “all insurance proceeds are to be paid directly to the contractor” — I did not receive my credits as promised – and took the contractor to small claims – the contract superseded the evidence proving I was owed a large credit.

Advice:
HAVE ANY CONTRACT viewed by a reputable attorney! Do not trust your association (if you own a condo or town house). Do not get fooled into signing when you are under distress after losing your home to a fire or flood.
